Gregarious Green Trends with Resene
A harmonious shade that is bang on trend, Resene Design Advocate Brooke Calvert provides some expert advice when it comes to this complex, yet surprisingly versatile colour.
The dominant colour in nature, green, is often used to represent growth, rejuvenation, balance and harmony. While it is easy on the eye, it can be a complex and immensely varied colour group – in isolation it can be difficult to decide whether a green is cool or warm. It is much easier to see ‘warmness’ or ‘coolness’ if there are two options to compare. For example, a deep-green room with rich autumn-coloured curtains, terracotta lounge suite and ochre-yellow carpet glows with warmth and vibrancy. In contrast, a slightly brighter green used in a well-lit south-facing room accented with cobalt blue, turquoise and white will be reminiscent of water and sky and be perceived as cold.
A versatile and calming colour, it can transform any room in your home. From the muted earthy tones of olive green and sage to the bold and moody deep forest green, green paint colours are a hot trend in home décor this spring, and will transform any room in your home. So, why not add a touch of green to your home and create a space that is both beautiful and inviting?
