Towelling Makeup Wipes

For this project you can reuse old towels or buy new towelling from a fabric store.

MATERIALS

For each makeup wipe you need:
2 pieces of towelling (approximately 9cm x 9cm)
Matching thread

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Pin the 2 pieces of cut towelling right side together and pin. Using a straight stitch, sew around the edges with a 1cm seam allowance. Leave an opening about 4cm on one side to allow you to turn the towel the right way out.

Step 2: Before turning, trim the corners of your makeup wipe, so that there are no pointed corners. (Snip up to the seam allowance, but be careful not to cut into the stitching.) This removes the bulk at the corners and allows the fabric to sit flat when turned the right way out.

Step 3: Turn the towel the right way out and press. Fold and press the seams under where the gap is (the 4cm unsewn part) and hand-stitch closed.

Step 4: Top-stitch around the makeup wipe, about 1cm in from the edge.
