The arrival of the Suzuki Fronx in New Zealand is a significant moment for the automotive brand, being the first all-new vehicle from the ground up released here for nearly seven years. ‘It is a total all-round package,’ says Chief Executive Gary Collins, and fills a critical market gap in their already impressive line-up with the likes of Swift, Jimny and Vitara.

However, the Fronx isn’t just another car – it is a strategic response to changing consumer preferences. ‘The market has shifted a lot towards SUVs,’ continues Gary. ‘In particular mid- to small-size ones that cater for everyone – from a couple, to a single female, to loading the family in the back, to heading away on a long weekend with friends.
