How to make an easy seaweed garden spray

Seaweed is full of nutrition, both for you and your garden. Warning: may be stinky.

Words: Jane Wrigglesworth

Making your own seaweed spray is simple:

  1. Collect a bunch of seaweeds from your local beach, rinse it in water to remove excess salt, then place it in a large container with water.
  2. Leave to steep for several weeks. It will become very smelly, so keep it away from the house.
  3. After a few weeks, dilute it to the colour of weak tea and use it as a foliar spray or water the soil.
