Fifteen years ago Nathan Najib had a vision to create ‘the most people-focused real estate agency on earth’. In 2016 he took the first step in realising this, opening the doors of Najib Real Estate.


Listening to Nathan Najib talk about his industry, his business and those who work alongside him, it is hard not to get caught up in his passion for integrity. Operating around a simple and timeless philosophy that the ‘client always comes first’, they are actively putting into place Nathan’s dream to break down the perception of the real estate industry.


Having grown up in Christchurch, Nathan is no stranger to our local market and spent 10 years working in a traditional real estate firm before going out on his own. ‘Najib Real Estate is about working with people,’ he explains. ‘It’s not about selling every house we possibly can, it is about collaborating with our clients and being honest with them about their property. In every instance, real estate should be about the customer and their property. As agents we are simply a by-product.’


Nathan is realistic about the challenge that arises in converting sellers from traditional, large market share companies. Yet it is a challenge he and his team are slowly overcoming as they break down the perception that big is always best. ‘The way people buy and sell is very different now than it was even a few years ago,’ Nathan explains. ‘And selecting an agent to work with shouldn’t be about picking a friend, or a cousin. It should be about picking the best.’


Unafraid of hard work, Nathan and his team are bringing a fresh and progressive approach to the Christchurch real estate scene and feel ‘blessed’ to have a growing share of this ever-changing and vibrant property market. Their personal approach has seen them grow largely due to word of mouth and repeat custom, testament to their dedication to building long-lasting relationships. t.
